We offer a number of scholarships to our dog classes to help dog guardians achieve this goal.
Diego lived a life full of activities in his younger days. As he got older, he aged out of the athletic world. The majority of dog sports are about speed and Diego, like all senior dogs, slowed down as he entered his second decade in life. Though he moved ever slower, he still craved a zestful life. Diego was fifteen years old when his handler discovered Olfactory Fun. Though Diego was slow, he showed off his pep in his steps while in class. He loved exploring the scents, navigating the obstacles, and enjoying the fruits (treats) of his labor. Diego’s handler believes this class helped inspire Diego to reach the age of SEVENTEEN.
In partnership with Diego’s guardian, Gail, AWS is offering four scholarships a year to Olfactory Fun level 1 for dogs who are over ten years of age. This is a great way to add enrichment and low impact fitness to your senior dog’s routine.
Mazzie was rescued by a couple of amazing humans, saving her from an uncertain future. Because Mazzie is a “reactive” dog (she barks and lunges at other dogs due to fear) she cannot comfortably attend classes with other dogs. She knows her basic cues but her guardians wanted her to experience a class just like all the other dogs. Olfactory Fun was designed with thoughts of Mazzie at the forefront of our minds. Reactive dogs enjoy searching for treats as much as any other dog!
Assembly of the Wandering Shepherd is offering four Olfactory Fun level 1 scholarships a year to dog-reactive dogs. This is a great way for reactive dogs to play, de-stress, and “be a dog” in a safe environment.
