We offer AKC Evaluations for a number of AKC Titles
$35 for each evaluation. You can be evaluated for more than one Title on the same day, when appropriate. Some evaluations can be scheduled at your convenience while others, like the CGC, need to be planned in advance. The cost is for the evaluation only - you will need to send an additional payment to the AKC to register the Title. Contact us if you have any questions about AKC Titles or our schedule.
Canine Good Citizen
The AKC believes that all dogs can be good dogs, and all owners can be great owners: all it takes is a little bit of training, lots of love, and of course, plenty of praise along the way.
CGC training creates long-lasting trust between you and your pup, but also ensures you’ll be good neighbors and friends to everyone around you—and, if you’re interested in going beyond the basics, CGC also lays the foundation for other AKC sports and activities like obedience, agility, tracking, and performance events.
AKC Urban CGC Test as a Public Access Test
AKC Urban CGC is a title in the Canine Good Citizen family of awards and titles that also include AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy, Canine Good Citizen and AKC Community Canine.
AKC Urban CGC requires that the dog demonstrate CGC skills and beyond in a setting that includes traffic, crowds, noises, smells and other distractions that are present in a city or town. As with Canine Good Citizen, AKC Urban CGC is a 10-step test of skills that dogs must pass to earn the official AKC Urban CGC title. This is a title that appears on the dog’s title record at AKC.
AKC Urban CGC is a public access test that demonstrates dogs are well-behaved and well-trained when in public settings. The Urban CGC test can be used by dog- friendly businesses (e.g., lodging, retail, transportation, public facilities) to recognize and accept dogs with good manners.
Passing the Urban CGC test or Canine Good Citizen test does not make a dog a service dog or emotional support dog. A key distinction of service or emotional support dogs is that the owner/handler has a disability. It is unethical to misrepresent a pet dog as a service or emotional support animal.
Advanced CGC; The “CGCA” Title
AKC Community Canine is the advanced level of AKC’s Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program.
As with CGC, AKC Community Canine has a 10-step test of skills that dogs must pass to earn the official AKC Community Canine title. This is a title that appears on the dog’s title record at AKC.

AKC FIT DOG Titles
The American Kennel Club is committed to improving and maintaining the fitness and health of all dogs and their owners.
AKC FIT DOG titles were designed to provide a structured, individualized fitness plan that you and your dog can do together.
There are 3 levels of AKC fitness titles—Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Each title requires a specific number of activity points to be completed, which varies based on title level.
